Crying Damsel

I gaze into the lost tomorrow

Not caring for what it may hold

A dying ember is my soul

As distant memories erode

Dark stories, forbidden glories

None of which I'm in

But ironically, this heartbreaking story

I might as well have been

Of how she died so tragically

From the darkness she had within

Her tearstained sheets may never dry

For pain she feels from him.

I am not him, so do not ask

I do but only imply

Why this damsel is not a maiden

Why it is she cries.

Unnamed poem

If I could describe her beauty with words

If I could describe her smile

Would you think of me absurd?

Or be intrigued in all the while

For her beauty is not the cause of my attention

It is something I cannot grasp

For it seems in addition her effect that still lasts

I wish I could explain, the way she makes me feel

It is like a pain, a bruise upon my heel

To remind me that I'm not alone, but have a true friend

Someone whose beauty is shown, by the help that she sends.
