SPRING AWAKENING

A rush of euphoria overcomes me

As trees bloom into an array of lilac, pink and white colors,

And the flowers show off their  beauty,

While my senses take over my life.

My eyes see the rebirth of my surroundings,

My ears hear the sounds of every bird that flies above me,

My nose is overwhelmed by the fragrances of the flowers

And the scent of the lilac trees,

As my lips repeat the wonder of this season of rebirth.

My love for all that is beautiful, fresh and wonderful

Outshines the rays of the sun

And my happiness overshadows rains that water the flowers.

So be it, this awakening of Spring never ceases year after year.
